Billing procedures for Medicare (Medicare Online and Easyclaims) are the same:

If the Patient Account (selected) is Bulk Billing – this will create a Bulk Billing Claim.

If the Patient Account (selected) is Private – this will create a Patient Claim

Quick-Pick Items

What appears on the Quick-Pick list is configured by the Practice Administrator. By including only those MBS items that are used on a daily basis – data entry is simplified and the risk of errors reduced.

Selecting Other Items

To bill for an item that is not included in the Quick-Pick list – click on the Item Search icon:

This will display the Find Item screen:

There are a number of ways to use this depending on the type of Practice.

• Find Item by MBS Group
  
• Lookup by MBS Number
  
• Use Find Item by Item Type
  

Lookup by MBS Number

If you know the MBS number – use the lookup to confirm and select this item

When Use this Item is clicked – you are returned to the Billing screen – and the item line auto-completes as shown below:

Note: You may have to enter the charge if the Fee Level is not correctly set.
