Overview 

From the Doctor's Desk - you have easy access to most of your day-to-day tasks.

The top level menu currently has three Tabs:

• My Health Record
• Clinical Management
• Medical Reports

Within each of these tabs are related functions.

In the screen shot shown below - the Clinical Management Tab has four groups.

• Consultations
• Prescriptions
• Pathology
• Referrals / Recalls

The lower level menu currently has the Recent Patient List and three Tabs:

• Arrivals and Waiting Room
• Quick Links
• Dashboard

The Recent Patients List can be hidden to provide more screen space for the Tabs.

Within each of these tabs are related functions.

Integration of My Health Record with SAAS Medical Systems is being updated, and is currently not available until testing and accreditation by My Health Record has been completed.

This project is well under way, and the integrated My Health Record features will be available soon.

The patient consultation records module facilitates structured clinical records with principal complaint, reason for encounter, examination, diagnosis, and plan and strategy.

In addition to notes, structured Clinical Coding can be used (it is not enforced).

Note: Currently the clinical terminology implemented in SAAS Consultation Records is ICPC-2 PLUS. (Note that an end-user licence fee applies).

A new version of this program will be released soon, using the SNOMED CT-AU and Australian Medicines Terminology clinical coding system. SNOMED is the preferred clinical coding system for My Health Record.

SAAS Medical Systems is partnered with MIMS and eRx to provide a fully integrated Prescriptions module.

Note that you must have the appropriate MIMS licence before MIMS Data can be activated in SAAS Medical.

Full prescription history, drug interactions, Allergies, and PBS Authority Items are catered for.

The MIMS Drug Browser provides a facility to search your entire MIMS Drug Database for product information, pack and formulation details and interactions etc. without using the Prescriptions module. 

Search by:

• Product
• Generics
• Therapeutic Class
• Actions and Indications
• Manufacturer

Manage Know Allergies allows you to record any known allergies for the patient.

This will be used by the MIMS Allergy Decision Support Module when prescribing for this patient.

The Pathology and Laboratory Results Menu allows you to view and process results received.

Confirmation of all results is required, even if the patient has been automatically matched.

Click on the Immunisation Register SAAS Web Cloud Link, and the SAAS Web Australian Immunisation Register is opened in your default browser. 

Note that when you are in SAAS Desktop, you are also securely connected to SAAS Web, therefore the access to SAAS Web is seemless and immediate.

Context is also retained, so the patient accessed in SAAS Desktop is already current in the Immunisation Register.

The Referrals and Request Letters module allows you to create referral Letters, and also manages the referral letter history for the patient.

There is a facility to create or modify letter templates.

The template editor provides a drag and drop feature that allows you to easily construct templates using placeholders for the patient's demographic details and clinical notes if required.

The Recalls and Reminders module allows you to create your own Recall Types.

You can create or update existing recalls, display recall lists or produce reports on recalls by clinic, doctor, and recall type.

The is also a facility to produce Mail Merge data.

Create or customise your own templates with headings and logo.

Text from patient Notes can be included in your reports.

Keeps complete history of reports issued.

Quick Links in the Doctors Desk allows easy access to some of the most used functions.

This enables you to access these functions without having to navigate outside of the Doctor Desk.

The Dashboard contains some widgets based on your current data.
